Itinerary

Day 1: Kasol - Grahan

  • Trek Distance: 2 KMs

  • Duration: 1 Hour

  • Pick Up Point: Kasol Main Market

  • Altitude Gain: 5200 ft - 7700 ft

  • Pick Up Time: 8:30 a.m.

The journey starts with an 8 km drive from Kasol to Grahan Stop, followed by a 2 km steep ascent to Grahan Village. Nestled in the Parvati Valley, Grahan is known for its lush forests, scenic trails, and charming wooden houses.

The trek begins through dense pine forests, gradually opening into grasslands with local tea stalls offering refreshing Rhododendron syrup. A final steep climb of about an hour leads to Grahan, perched atop a hill.

Our campsite, surrounded by Rhododendron trees, offers stunning mountain views. After a hearty lunch, explore the village and soak in its peaceful charm. The day ends with a delicious dinner before resting in tents under the starlit sky.

Day 2: Grahan - Min Thatch

  • Trek Distnace: 10 KMs

  • Duration: 5-6 Hours

  • Altitude Gain: 7700 ft - 11150 ft

Today, we trek to Min Thach, a scenic meadow on our route. After a hearty breakfast at Grahan, we follow the northbound trail. As we walk, mountain views open up, and the climb to Min Thach begins. The path is steep and can be tricky, so follow your trek leader’s guidance.

After trekking through dense forests, we reach Min Thach, a grassy ridge used by locals for cattle grazing. The campsite offers stunning views of Chanderkhani and surrounding peaks. A water tap provides potable water, and seasonal stalls may offer tea and coffee.

Camping here helps with acclimatization before heading to Nagaru. Enjoy breathtaking sunset views, a warm meal, and a restful night in your tents.

Nagaru, a flatland atop a cliff, offers stunning views of the Parvati Valley, Chanderkhani Ranges, and Beas Valley. The winds are strong, and temperatures drop fast—set up camp quickly and rest early for the trek to Sar Pass.

Day 5: Bhiskeri Thatch - Barshaeni (then drive to Kasol)

  • Trek Distance: 10 KMs

  • Duration: 4-5 Hours

  • Altitude Gain: 11000 ft - 7875 ft

Today marks the final day of your Sar Pass trek. The 10 km descent from Biskeri Thach begins with a steep trail alongside a stream. The path briefly crosses a fenced plot before rejoining the main trail into a dense forest.

Navigating through multiple trails, follow the northeastern route. A tricky stream crossing requires rappelling down a 20-foot rock face before walking over wooden planks. The trail then ascends past campsites, following a water pipeline leading to Pulga village. A short walk from Pulga, across a stream, takes you to Tulga. From there, you cross a bridge over the Parvati River to reach Barshaini, the final village connected by a rough road.

Barshaini serves as a starting point for our other treks like Kheerganga - Bun Buni Circuit and Bun Buni Thatch. From here, a 15 km drive (45 min–1 hr) takes you back to Kasol, marking the end of your unforgettable trek.

Day 4: Nagaru - Bhiskeri Thatch via SAR PASS

  • Trek Distance: 14 KMs

  • Duration: 6-8 Hours

  • Altitude Gain: 12500 ft - 13800 ft - 11000 ft

Today is the longest and most thrilling trekking day as we head to Sar Pass, covering 14 km. We start before dawn, climbing steep ridges with snow patches. The final ascent is sharp and challenging, but the stunning summit views make it worthwhile.

Marked by a Trishul, Sar Pass offers breathtaking sights of the Tosh Valley and snow-capped peaks. The descent is a thrilling slide down steep slopes, followed by a trek through meadows and streams to Biskeri Thach, our campsite for the night. Tomorrow, we return to Kasol.
